PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a monoquinone compound taking advantage of the enzymatic reaction using a bisphenol as a raw material to decrease a bisphenol that is an environmental pollutant. SOLUTION: A method for producing a monoquinone shown by general formula (2), wherein an oxygen is made to act on a bisphenol compound of general formula (1) in the presence of oxygenase.
