SLIDING PART AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member excellent in hardness and wear resistance and hardly causing peeling of diamond thin film from a basis material and also to provide a manufacturing method capable of easily manufacturing such a sliding member at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method has steps of: preparing a first and a second sliding member each having a diamond thin film on the surface of a basis material made of ceramics; and smoothing the respective surfaces of the diamond thin films by allowing the respective diamond thin films of the first and the second sliding part to rub together. By this method, the surface of the diamond thin film can be polished with high precision without using expensive diamond abrasives.
