PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording material which produces a sharp multi-color image of high density free from a color mixture by application of a comparatively lower heat energy and is of a multi-color color development type with high sensitivity and superb color separation properties and further can be manufactured at a low cost in a simple process. SOLUTION: This heat-sensitive recording material has a heat-sensitive recording layer containing together two kinds or more of an electron donative dye precursors which develop into a varying hue and an electron receptive compound, formed on a support. At least one of the two kinds or more of the electron donative dye precursor is contained in the heat-sensitive recording layer in a state of solid fine particles and at least the other kind is contained in the heat-sensitive recording layer in such a state that it is encapsulated in a microcapsule. In addition, at least either of the support or the heat-sensitive recording layer has a different hue from the hue developed by a chemical reaction between the electron donative dye precursor and the electron receptive compound as the characteristics of the heater-sensitive recording material. |
