PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicine for curing chronic articular rheumatism by including an ingredient obtained from the capsular polysaccharides of bacteria belonging to the genus Klebsiella. SOLUTION: The medicine for curing chronic articular rheumatism contains the active polysaccharides formed by rhamnose, glucose, galactose, and glucuronic acid with the formula of→2) Rha (1→:→2) Glc (1→: 3) Gal (1→:→3) GlcUA (1→(wherein Rha is rhamunose residue; Glc is glucose residue; Gal is galactose residue; GlcUA is glucuronic acid, the numeric character adjoining an arrow expresses the position of the glycoside bond of the each residue); and a molar ratio of the respective residues is (1.4-2.2):(0.7-1.2):(0.5-1.0):(0.5-1.0).
