PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a reel body or a returning member and reduce the production cost of a device for returning a clutch. SOLUTION: This device 50 for returning the clutch is capable of returning a clutch mechanism from a clutch off state to a clutch on state interlockingly with the rotation of the line winding direction of a handle and is equipped with a ratchet wheel interlocking with the handle, the returning member 51, a connecting mechanism 53 and a toggle spring 56 for distributing and urging the returning member 51. Furthermore, the returning member 51 is connected to a clutch cam and moved while shaking to an engaging position for engaging with the ratchet wheel and a separating nonengaging position according to the rotation of the clutch cam. The connecting mechanism is provided with a platy protruding part 53a formed in either one of the returning member 51 and a moving member and a connecting part 53b formed by notching a part of the clutch cam so as to engage with the protruding part 53a and is capable of connecting the returning member 51 so as to be freely shakable within a prescribed range and immovable in the moving direction of the clutch cam.
