PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propolis composition capable of enhancing an absorption promoting effect of propolis on an organism and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This propolis composition comprises propolis, lecithin and at least one kind of a fatty acid selected from an n-3-based unsaturated fatty acid and a medium chain fatty acid containing 8-12 total carbon atoms. For example, a perilla oil, a fish oil, a coconut oil and a babassu oil may be cited as the fatty acid. This propolis composition is produced by dissolving propolis and lecithin in at least one kind of a solvent selected from an alcohol and acetone, removing the solvent by one kind of a method selected from reduced pressure and heating and formulating the resultant substance with the fatty acid. Otherwise, the propolis composition is produced by dissolving propolis and lecithin in the solvent, adding an organic solvent to the solution to form a precipitate and formulating the precipitate with the fatty acid. |
