PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such problems that a conventional liquid detergent is liable to cause chapped skin of the hands and has poor biodegradability due to a synthetic surfactant. SOLUTION: This liquid detergent composition comprises (1) 1-20% of a fatty acid soap, (2) 1-10% of an orange oil, (3) 1-20% of a 3-4C alkyl group- containing ethylene glycol monoalkyl ether or diethylene glycol monoalkyl ether, (4) 0.1-5% of tetrapotassium ethylenediaminetetraacetate, (5) 5-15% of diethylene glycol or glycerol and (6) 30-91.9% of water.
