PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating solution for colored film formation capable of coloring the surface of a plate glass without adding a metal salt, a noble metal, a noble metal compound or chromium oxide as coloring agent to a coating solution obtained by dissolving a metal alkoxide in a solvent. SOLUTION: This coating solution for colored film formation is obtained by dissolving metal alkoxide using titanium alkoxide and silicone alkoxide and at least one of both includes an organic nitrogen including compound in the molecular structure, in an organic solvent. The colored film is obtained by wet coating the coating solution on the surface of a plate glass, heat hardening using a sol-gel method, and carrying out a color development to obtain a brown colored film.
