PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator position detecting device capable of providing signal patterns in different two position ranges with a plate to be detected arranged in the same line in a hoistway and facilitating the fixing position adjusting work of a detector and the plate to be detected. SOLUTION: This elevator position detecting device is equipped with the plate to be detected 6 having at least two parts to be detected 6a, 6b and a fixing position adjusting hole 7, arranged in the same line as the elevating direction of a cage in the floor of the hoistway where the elevator cage is operated; and the detector having at least two detecting switches 12, 13 and a photo detecting switch 14 for fixing position adjusting, arranged in the cage and engaged in a non-contact state with the plate to be detected.
