PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of printing irregularities because of a change of a transfer speed of recording sheets. SOLUTION: A speed detection roller 25 is driven to rotate along with the transfer of the color thermosensitive recording sheet 10. A rotary encoder 25a coupled to the speed detection roller 25 generates a pulse signal at every rotation by a fixed quantity and sends the signal to a printing controller 23. The printing controller 23 obtains the transfer speed of the color termosensitive recording sheet 10 from the pulse signal and calculates a timing to record a next line. A pitch of lines is made constant and generation of density irregularities and color irregularities is suppressed.
