PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a hemming machine dispensing with the upper die for slantingly pre-bending a flange part which has been bent upward a plate-like work and folding the flange part back on itself by finish bending. SOLUTION: An elevating table 10 is placed close to a lower die 3 on which a work is set. The table 10 is mounted with a bending blade 20 provided with a pre-bending blade 21 which is slidably guided toward the lower die 3 while carrying out the pre-bending by the pressure of the downward motion and a finish-bending blade 22 which carries out the finish bending by the pressure of the downward motion in a position along the sliding direction of the bending blade and an air cylinder 30 driving the bending blade 20 to advance and retreat so that the pre-bending blade 21 and the finish-bending blade 22 are slid to the pre-bending position and the upper part of the finish-bending position respectively. The elevating table 10 is driven by a hydraulic cylinder 9 to descend the pre-bending blade 21 and the finish bending blade 22 to the pre-bending and finish bending position from the upper position respectively.
