PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost and welding work load, reduce the weight of parts required for the reduction of fuel consumption, and provide an axle housing having improved welding strength and improved fatigue strength, in an axle housing 1 formed by welding a press molded part. SOLUTION: Joint parts 3a of a center housing 3 and joint parts 9a, 8a of both right and left housings 9, 8 are formed into square pipe shapes, the center housing 3 is divided at the position to the rear surface 5a side aside from the front surface 4a in the plan view, and the joint parts 3a, 8a and 9a are overlapped. Irregularities are provided on joint part end surfaces 3b, a projecting part 4c is provided on the front surface 4a of the center housing 3, and a ring 7 is welded inside it.
