PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally stable mat which never causes a corrugation phenomenon even if a high-temperature object such as teacup is placed thereon. SOLUTION: This mat is made of an ethylenic copolymer resin in which the peak of the DSC curve in a temperature rise in differential scanning calorimetry ranges between 50 deg.C and 70 deg.C. This mat is obtained by heating a sheet manufactured by extrusion molding of the ethylenic copolymer resin or a mat obtained by cutting it followed by gradually cooling. As the ethylenic copolymer resin, ethylene-methacrylate copolymer resin is preferably used.
