PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in the conventional method that necessitates a lot of time in order to judge whether an egg is contaminated by Salmonella bacteria or not and is lacking in the practical utility. SOLUTION: As the means 2 for detecting Salmonella bacteria which react with a metabolite gas released from Salmonella bacteria and change color, this means permits immediately judging the presence of Salmonella bacteria by means of pasting a matter obtained by adsorbing silver ion, copper ion or mercury ion by a fiber substance molded in a piece of paper state on the surface of the egg or the inside of the vessel which is constituted of a plastic film capable of being thermally stuck and in which the egg is put.
