TITANIUM DIOXIDE-CALCIUM CARBONATE COMPLEX, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME AND PAPER MADE OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium dioxide-calcium carbonate complex which can be manufactured by utilizing a carbonation reaction and is excellent in opacity; a method for manufacturing it; and a paper made of it. SOLUTION: The titanium dioxide-calcium carbonate complex comprises a titanium dioxide particle on the surface layer of a calcium carbonate particle, wherein the complex can be manufactured by utilizing a carbonation reaction. The complex can be used as a filler of an applying pigment to finish a paper, which is excellent because it has a good balance in ash content, whiteness, opacity and surface strength for example.
