PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer having sufficient strength and biodegradability, a solution of a polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer precursor using a solvent neither having toxicity nor burdening an environment with a load, foamable powder of the polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer precursor, a polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer film and a polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer foam. SOLUTION: This polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer is obtained by polymerizing aspartic acid of structural formula (1) with a dicarboxylic acid of general formula (2) (D is an organic group containing at least one polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond) and a diamine of general formula (3) (R1 is a 1-20C bifunctional aliphatic group or aromatic group). This solution comprises a precursor of the copolymer as a solute. This foamable powder of the polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer precursor, this polysuccinic acid imide-based copolymer film or foam is obtained from the solution.
