SEALING STRUCTURE OF INFLATABLE BALLOON CATHETER AND SEALING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved sealing structure of a balloon catheter which is usable for mounting an inflatable balloon at a catheter body segment in the case of the balloon and catheter body segment formed of materials nonanalogous in characteristics with each other. SOLUTION: This sealing structure is formed by supplying an adhesive layer between the inflatable balloon and the catheter body segment and crimping and fixing holding rings onto the respective sealing and joining segments. The sealing structure is particularly useful for joining the pliable balloon formed by silicone to the catheter body segment formed by polyurethane.
