PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for producing copper powder small in a grain size distribution in such a manner that the grain size is freely controlled to the aimed one. SOLUTION: As to this production method for copper powder small in a grain size distribution, in a production method for copper powder in which a primary reducing agent is added to a suspension in which an aqueous solution of copper salt and an alkali agent are reacted, and copper oxide is precipitated to intermediately reduce the same to cuprous oxide, and a secondary reducing agent is added to the suspension of cuprous oxide to finally reduce the same to metallic copper in the solution, the above final reducing stage is divided into an unsaturated stage on the first half in which a part of the secondary reducing agent is added and a grain growing stage in which the other part of the secondary reducing agent is added, and a nuclear generating period in which the nuclei of metallic copper are generated is provided on the space between the unsaturated stage and the grain growing stage.
