PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven running gear to be easily run in various ways and easily handled. SOLUTION: A disk-like member 16 is attached to a rotation shaft 13 rotated by a shaft driving motor to be rotated when an operation switch 15 is turned on. The disk-like member 16 has a pair of translucent ring-shaped bands 17a and 17b, on which non-translucent areas 18 are randomly formed. The translucent area and non-translucent area of the translucent ring-shaped bands are detected by first and second photoelectric transfer elements 19 and 20 respectively. When the first photoelectric transfer element 19 is detecting the translucent area, a drive wheel 3 on the left side rotates, and when the first photoelectric transfer element 19 is detecting the non-translucent area, the drive wheel 3 stops. When the second photoelectric transfer element 20 is detecting the translucent area, a drive wheel on the right side rotates, and when the second photoelectric transfer element 20 is detecting the non-translucent area, the drive wheel on the right side stops. The main body 1 of the running gear can be run with the mechanism mentioned above, and can be run in various ways by changing the disk-like member.
