PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus and an ink-jet recording method which increase a reflection density of black without lowering a recording quality by a granular sense of formed images. SOLUTION: For black parts of recording data having a luminance of smaller than a predetermined value, a black ink is discharged at a discharge frequency of 20 kHz which is double a frequency for other colors. The number of dots hit by the black ink per unit area is made larger than the number of dots by the other inks. The reflection density of the recorded result by the black ink is increased. On the other hand, for black parts having a luminance of not smaller than the predetermined value, each of cyan, magenta and yellow is hit by a discharge frequency of 10 kHz and black is formed by mixing the colors. A density irregularity is thus prevented. |
