PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic material treating device capable of improving the treatment efficiency of organic material for a long time and preventing the lowering of the service lifes of carriers. SOLUTION: This organic material treating device is provided with a treating vessel 1 which stores the carriers 4 and organic material, a stirring body 15 which stirs stored material in the treating vessel, a cover body 32 which closes a charging opening 31 through which the organic material is charged into the treating vessel 1 freely switchably, a detecting part which detects the opening/ closing of the cover part 32 and a controlling part 22 which performs periodical stirring control drives the stirring body 15 every a predetermined time and, at the same time, performs temporary stirring control which drives the stirring body for a specified time separate from the periodical stirring control when the opening/closing of the cover body 32 is detected by the detecting part.
