<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a filter medium for purifying dirty water, by which the filter medium, which is porous, has large surface area and a hardly slippery surface, is hardly broken and is high in removing rate of floating materials and content, and can be easily manufactured at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the filter medium comprises adding adjusting water to the soil, which contains loamy soil as the principal component and is obtained by dredging a river, compacting the water-added soil into a desired shape, putting the compact into a vessel, which is obtained by firing the compact formed with the same material as the soil and has plural pores, firing the compact together with the vessel in a firing furnace at 1,150-1,200 deg.C for 4-6 hours and then cooling it gradually to normal temperature.</p> |
