PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for drawing out tape onto a veneer winding ball wherein the tape drawn out between veneers from a wound tape can be quickly cut at optional timing. SOLUTION: When winding of a veneer is suspended or ended, a wound tape 6 pushes one side face crossing a drawing out direction of the tape from the other side face by a pushing component 85 at a position wherein the wound tape 6 is adjusted to move forward, and its rotation is stopped. Though driving of a veneer lathe is also stopped almost in synchronization with rotation stop of the wound tape, a winding reel comes to continue rotary motion following inertia at a veneer-winding position. Then, though drawing out of the tape from the wound tape 6 is stopped, the tape comes to be pulled by the winding reel following the inertia, and tension of the tape is increased. The tape of which the tension is increased is cut at the most fragile position i.e., a position wherein a cutting part of a tape cutting tool 103 provided between the wound ball 3 and the wound tape 6 bites into a tape face.
