PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage fermentation apparatus which allows continuous operation, is little in power consumption and energy consumption and is suitable for business use. SOLUTION: This garbage fermentation apparatus 10 is provided with a hopper 40 for charging garbage, a screw feeder 44 and a horizontal rotating drum 12. The garbage which is charged into the hopper 40 is cut out by a screw feeder 44, dehydrated by compression and, thereafter, sent to the drum 12. A warm wind feeding pipe 66 is inserted into the rotating drum 12 so as to keep the garbage at the temperature suitable for the fermentation by the warm wind and feed adequate oxygen to aerobic bacteria taken part in the fermentation. Water vapor generated therein is exhausted by a suction fan 78.
