PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide treating systems which can obtain treated water of stable quality and the operating method therefor. SOLUTION: The treating systems 500-508 are provided with various devices 200-208 as pretreating devices and spiral membrane modules 100 at the latter stages of the preheating devices 100. The modules 100 are provided with spiral membrane elements capable of washing by backward flow under a backward pressure of 0.05-0.3 MPa. When the treating systems 500-508 are operated, plural kinds of raw water are pretreated by the respective devices 200-208, and the plural kinds of pretreated water obtained from the respective devices 200-208 are fed to the spiral membrane modules 100 through feed systems 300 and further separated by the membranes.
