PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flowerpot available at a low cost, excellent in water absorptivity and water retainability, capable of accomplishing air permeation through the body wall of the flowerpot, and of suppressing both the permeation and evaporation of water through the body wall by using waste wood ground product, plastic waste material ground product and water-absorbing resin. SOLUTION: This flowerpot comprises the following parts: a first water-absorbing paper layer part forming the inner face of the flowerpot, a second water-absorbing paper layer part forming the outer face thereof, and a water-absorbing mixed layer part arranged between the above-mentioned first water-absorbing paper layer part and the second water-absorbing layer part and comprising a mixture formed of waste wood ground product consisting mainly of fibrous wasted wood particles each having <=5 mm particle size; wherein at least a side part is made of a panel part material which is structured so that the above-mentioned first and second water-absorbing paper layer parts, and the above-mentioned water-absorbing mixed layer part are joined together to be integrally formed. Using waste wood ground product consisting mainly of the fibrous waste wood particles each having <=5 mm particle size, and mixture containing less water than that contained in the waste wood ground product results in making the objective paper flowerpot easily moldable, excellent in water absorptivity and water retainability and available at a low cost.
