PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod excellent in durability capable of withstanding long-term use. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is obtained by inserting a fitting male part 4a of a tip rod 4 into a fitting female part 3a of a tip holding rod 3, carrying out temporary tacking with an adhesive, preparing for a nearly triangular connecting sheet P so as to make an apex present in a connected part of the tip holding rod 3 to the tip rod 4 and maximize the amount of winding of the part and winding the connecting sheet P. Furthermore, the connecting sheet P is prepared by impregnating reinforcing fibers L such as carbon fibers, glass fibers or titanium fibers with a thermosetting resin and the reinforcing fibers L are doubled and oriented in the axial direction. The connecting sheet P as a connecting layer 10 is capable of reinforcing the connected part.
