PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of feeding a number of sheets with good operability. SOLUTION: A mobile back fence 24 comprises a pressing part 24-1 transferring sheets P2 to a right tray 1 by pressing about the center part of the rear edge of the sheets P2 loaded on a left tray 2; an unillustrated guide member fixedly installed on the second tray 2 and guiding the reciprocating movement of the pressing part 24-1 in sheet feeding direction; a drive part having a wire 25 stretched by pulleys 26-29 disposed at the bottom part of the left tray and connected with the pressing part 24-1 and a reversible motor 30 connected to the pulley 27; and a motor control means varying the rotating speed of the motor by the rotating direction of the reversible motor 30. Thus, after all sheets P1 on the right tray 1 are consumed, the sheets P2 on the left tray 2 are pressed by the pressing part 24-1 so as to automatically feed the sheets to the right tray 1.
