An adjustment device for adjusting a backrest of a vehicle seat, in particular a motor vehicle seat, is provided. The adjustment device has a backrest arm which can be directly or indirectly coupled with a backrest. The backrest arm can pivot about a fixed pivot axis which is preferably embodied as a pivot pin. An engagement profile which interacts with a mating profile of a sliding locking element is preferably provided on the backrest arm. The sliding locking element can be adjusted relative to the backrest arm through the use of an actuating device, in such a way that the mating profile can be disengaged from the engagement profile for at least a partial release of a pivoting action of the backrest arm. |
