The invention relates to a method for the charging of a customer account for telecommunication services by a desired number of value units, whereby the customer account has a dedicated pre-paid module or pre-paid card and is managed by a telecommunication service providing network operator, whereby the method comprises the following steps: payment for the desired number of value units at a payment centre, establishment of an on-line connection, between the payment centre and the network operator, or between the payment centre and an intermediate station, transmission of a customer account charging request, from the payment centre to the network operator, or the intermediate station, whereby the request contains at least information referring to the corresponding customer account and information, by means of which the number of value units paid for may be derived, receipt of the customer account charging request by the network operator, or the intermediate station, transmission of a checked customer account charging request to the network operator from the intermediate station, on a positive check of the credit by the intermediate station and charging of the corresponding account by the network operator on a positive credit check, or on receipt of a checked customer account charging request from the intermediate station. |
