Bi-directional flow sensor with integral direction indication

A flow sensor (20) for measuring the direction and flow rate of a fluid flowing through a pipe (51). The flow sensor includes a rotatable paddle wheel impeller (21) and a sensor arrangement for generating signals as the paddle wheel blades pass the sensors. A micro-circuit interprets the signals and generates an output corresponding to the direction as well as the speed of rotation of the impeller.
