PURPOSE: A method for checking run state of a BMD in a communication system is provided to perform charging data file transmission function of the BMD continuously by logging a history at a charge data file of the BMD and removing at a fixed period. CONSTITUTION: A software of a BMD(Billing Mediation Device) calls a log procedure for logging a history(S1). The called log procedure determines whether the execution program uses the history(S2). The current time information is determined(S3). A procedure for deciding a file name is called and the file name for logging the history from the current time information(S4). The current time information is inserted into the front part of the history information to be logged(S5). It is judged whether a file having the decided name is opened(S6). The history information having the inserted current time is logged in the affected file(S7). The opened file is closed(S8). In case that the file opening is failed, normal file restoration function is performed(S9). The failure content is outputted with the history information to a standard output port(S10).
