PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided, in which the front substrate has an electrode made up of metallic material, to thereby reduce neon emission and improve color purity. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a front glass substrate(11) and a rear glass substrate(12) arranged to face each other; electrodes(33X,33Ya,33Yb,34) formed at inner surfaces of the front glass substrate and the rear glass substrate, respectively, so as to be orthogonal with each other; a dielectric layer(14) and a protective layer(15) formed at electrodes arranged at the front glass substrate; and a dielectric layer formed at the electrode(34) arranged at the rear glass substrate; and barrier ribs(17) for forming cells(19) coated with a fluorescent material onto the dielectric layer of the rear glass substrate. Electrodes formed at the inner surface of the front glass substrate include first to third metallic electrodes(33X,33Ya,33Yb), wherein the first electrode causes address discharge with the electrode formed at the rear glass substrate, and second and third electrodes cause first and second sustaining discharges with the first electrode. |
