MULTI CHANNEL IMAGE ENCODING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MEMORY FOR MULTI CHANNEL ENCODING

PURPOSE: A multi channel image encoding system and a method for controlling a memory for a multi channel encoding are provided to efficiently share a memory which stores a current frame and a restoring frame when using a memory block switching. CONSTITUTION: A multiplexer(1) selects some of input analog video signals. A video decoder(3) converts the analog video signals from the multiplexer(1) into digital video signals according to a sentence which an MPEG encoder(15) can interpret. A video decoder controller(21) determines a selecting signal based on an input channel from a register(23). A memory(27) stores a digital video signal of a selected channel. An MPEG encoder(15) reads the digital video signal stored in the memory(27) and performs an MPEG encoding operation. A generator(11) generates a synchronous signal of data which is inputted to the MPEG encoder(15). A CPU(25) initializes a register. The CPU(25) receives interrupts generated by a channel switching section(13) and a user code inserting machine(19) and records necessary information in the register.
