The toothpaste based on e.g. sorbitol and papain comprises a solution of Ketrol 1.30, bidistilled glycerine 14.00, oraal triclosan 0.20, 70 per cent liquid sorbitol 12.00, sodium saccharide 0.20, bronopol (Caprinol) 0.20, sodium monofluoro phosphate 0.76, zinc citrate 0.50 and powdered papain 7.00 per cent by weight respectively. It also contains 96 degrees ethanol, 4 per cent. EMBODIMENT - The paste also incorporates P-10F alumina 12.00, dihydrated dicalcium phosphate 36.00, sodium lauryl sulphate 0.70, natural crystal menthol 0.0048, mouthmint 0.40, menthol piperite essence 0.60 per cent made up to distilled water, and blue 42051 and yellow 19140 colouring agents.
