PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrahigh-contrast photosensitive material less liable to a change of its photographic performance and a method for developing the photosensitive material. SOLUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material contains at least two silver halide emulsions different from each other in grain size in the same emulsion layer or separate emulsion layers on the base and contains at least one hydrazine derivative as a nucleus forming agent and at least one specified amine compound as a nucleus formation accelerator in the emulsion layers or other hydrophilic colloidal layers. The sensitive material is developed while replenishing a developing solution in an amount of <=200 ml per 1 m2 development area.
