PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program reservation system in which a user uses a mobile information terminal to make a video recording reservation to a video server of its own home from a visit place without mistake. SOLUTION: A mobile information terminal 101 that can send/receive data via a public channel accesses a program guide distribution server 102 that distributes a program guide to the mobile information terminal 101 based on a request from the terminal 101, and a user uses the mobile information terminal 101 to confirm the acquired program guide. The user confirming the program guide and selecting a program desirably to be reserved uses the mobile information terminal 101 to access a program reservation server 103 and to transmit a program code and a transfer destination code to the server 103. The program reservation server 103 transmits a reservation code to a home use video server 104 designated by the transfer destination code on the basis of received data and the home use video server 104 makes a video recording reservation.
