PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a generating method for data when gradation of an image display device is corrected by using a lookup table. SOLUTION: Using a lookup table 21 (R, G, B) storing data taking white valance of image data in each color converts the data in each color into gradation data able to take white balance including a V-T characteristic of a liquid crystal display panel. The resulting data are fed to a D/A converter 23 (R, G, B) and fed to a liquid crystal display panel 24 (R, G, B) via a liquid crystal drive circuit 23 (R, G, B). Gamma correction data within a dynamic range set by a luminance ratio and a contrast ratio in each color measured in advance by each display device are written in the lookup table so that the gamma correction data are all effectively utilized.
