PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera which can easily handle a picture file in transmitting it without the rise of manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: When a digital camera 1 and a personal computer 3 are connected, a DPOF file is down-loaded on the personal computer 3 from the digital camera 1. Picture data included in the DPOF file which is down-loaded is generated as printing data for printing a picture by a printer 5 in the personal computer 3. Printing data is transmitted to the printer and the printer 5 prints the picture, based on printing data. When the digital camera 1 and the personal computer 3 are connected, picture data transmitted from the digital camera 1 is printed by the printer 5. The operation of the personal computer 3 by a user is not required during that time. It is not necessary to add CPU for making the digital camera 1 to be a host even if USB is used by installing the personal computer 3 between the digital camera 1 and the printer 5.
