PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication control method and communication controller that prevent interruption of a speech head in the case of receiving data between devices interconnected by a bus line adopting, e.g. the IEEE 1394 system. SOLUTION: In a communication system 100 consisting of an output device 3 that outputs stream data via a data bus 5 comprising a prescribed connection means, an input device 4 that acquires the stream data from the output device 3 via a data bus 5, and a communication controller 1 controlling the output device 3 and the input device 4, the output device 3 requests start of communication of the stream data to the input device 4, the input device 4 to which the communication start is requested informs the output device 3 about the completion of the input preparation of the stream data, and when the end of input preparation is given to the output device 3, the output device 3 transmits the stream data to the input device 4 via the data bus 5 to prevent interruption of head of data in the case of receiving the stream data.
