A power burner gas-fired water heater (10) has a removable fuel supply manifold (64) which is mounted within a sealed plenum box (36) and supplied with gas from a valve (58), externally mounted on the plenum box (36) and coupled to the manifold (64) by a flexible hose (72) disposed within the plenum box (36) and removably connected to the gas valve (58). Replacement of the fuel supply orifices (66) carried by the fuel supply manifold (64) is achieved by removal of the access panel (42) of the plenum box (36), uncoupling the flexible hose (72) from the gas valve (58) and disconnecting the manifold (64) from the support structure within the plenum box (36).
