PURPOSE: To provide an automatic fuel feed apparatus capable of feeding fuel without assistance wherever a fuel filler port of an automobile may be positioned and dispensing with labor of a fuel feed worker. CONSTITUTION: A fuel feed machine 11 comprises arm mechanisms 14, 15 connected rotatably to a support 13 on one end side thereof and having on the other end side thereof a nozzle mechanism 16 which is provided with a fuel feed nozzle 23 connected to a fuel feed mechanism through piping 37, an arm- rotating unit 33 for operating the arm mechanisms 14, 15, and an insertion sensor 31 for detecting the insertion of the fuel feed nozzle 23 into a fuel filler port of an automobile. The arm-rotating unit 33 is operated on the basis of a signal indicating a position of the fuel filler port, which is detected by position sensors 32, 35, and the nozzle mechanism 16 is moved to the fuel filler port. The fuel feed nozzle is inserted into the fuel filler port and, when the insertion sensor 31 detects the insertion of the fuel feed nozzle into the fuel filler port, fuel feed is started and then stopped on the basis of the preset fuel feed data.
