PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter which is equipped with dyed layers as coloring layers and columnar projecting parts to define liquid crystal layer thickness and enables manufacturing of a color liquid crystal display device with excellent display quality and its simple manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The color filter is equipped with the dyed layers 5 formed on a substrate 2 with a specified pattern consisting of plural colors, dye resistant layers 6 formed between the dyed layers protruding from the dyed layers and the columnar projecting parts 7 on specified positions of the dye resistant layers 6. The color filter 1 is manufactured by forming a photosensitive layer on the substrate in the first step, by exposing the photosensitive layer with exposure enabling dye resistant layers formation in the second step, by further exposing parts of the regions exposed in the second step corresponding to the columnar projecting parts in the third step, by developing the photosensitive layer so as to form the dye resistant layers on the substrate, plural layers to be dyed on parts where the dye resistant layers are not formed and the columnar projecting parts on specified parts on the dye resistant layers in the fourth step and by dyeing the plural layers to be dyed with dyestuffs of desired colors so as to form the dyed layers in the fifth step. |
