PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a liquid crystal display device wherein a process for forming a spacer is simplified. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a color filter substrate, a light shielding film provided on the color filter substrate, a color filter layer formed at an opening part of the light shielding film, a protective film provided on the color filter layer and a spacer provided on the protective film and the protective film and the spacer are formed by a transferring film having two layers.
