PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording/reproducing device constituted so as to record a signal on the disk by the radiation of a laser made from an optical pickup. SOLUTION: This device is constituted so that the transfer time of a data signal which is a recording signal outputted from a computer device 7 as the host, and the signal recording processability of the optical disk recording/ reproducing device are measured by making the test recording operation not recording the signal on the disk, and also the test recording time is arranged to take the same time as that required for recording the test signal to the trial recording area.
