摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner excellent in environmental stability, not causing the scraping of a photoreceptor and the fusion of the toner and stably giving a high-grade image having high resolution even at low humidity over a long period of time and an image forming method. SOLUTION: The average circularity of the magnetic toner is >=0.970, the magnetic toner particles contain at least magnetic iron oxide as a magnetic material and the ratio (B/A) of the amount (B) of elementary iron to the amount (A) of elementary carbon present in the surfaces of the magnetic toner particles measured by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic analysis of the magnetic toner is <0.001. The intensity of magnetization of the magnetic toner in a magnetic field of 79.6 kA/m (1,000 Oe) is 10-50 Am2/kg (emu/g), the number average particle diameter of the magnetic material is 0.1-0.3μm and the number % of particles of <=0.1μm is <=40%.</p>
