PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an error correction coding type digital transmission method by which a parameter denoting a characteristic of decoded information quality can be obtained in an optional decoding process during repetition of optional decoding. SOLUTION: The coding processing includes a plurality of basic coding processes which are related in series or in parallel. The decoding processing includes a plurality of basic decoding processes (51, 52, 53) that conduct repetitive decoding each of which corresponds to a plurality of the basic coding processes and each of which generates at least one weighted output information item that can be sent to one other basic decoding process or more. A characteristic amount decision process (54) calculates at least one characteristic amount from a set of the weighted output information items produced by the decoding process, a decoding information quality parameter decision process (55) decides a decoding information quality parameter relating to the set of the decoding information items corresponding to the weighted output information items from at least the one characteristic amount and at least one configuration parameters.
