PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffraction optical device and a photographing optical device having a simple structure of the diffraction optical device and rather loose conditions for the materials to obtain the wavelength selectivity. SOLUTION: In the diffraction grating having the periodical structure each having a square cross section, by controlling the height of squares to specified phase height, only R and B light signals generate phase difference and R and B light signals are diffracted. Thus, the optical low pass effect can be obtained in the R and B wavelength region.
