摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the volume reduction ratio and improve the immobilization rate of radionuclide to a solidification substance by performing the volume reduction by thermal decomposition and gasification, and solidification of the residues by a single process in a volume reduction and solidification treatment of a radioactive solid organic substance. SOLUTION: Matter to be treated made by having metal oxide added to and mixed in the radioactive solid organic matter is injected in a vessel 3 by a supplier 4, the matter to be treated is heat treated under an inactive atmosphere inside a heating furnace 5 along with the vessel 3 till reaching a melt state, a then cooled and solidified. The metal oxide contains clad (iron rust) generated in a nuclear power plant. After the matter to be treated is heat- treated under the inactive atmosphere till reaching the melt state, the further melt matter is made to flow down between carbon matters, brought into contact with them and then solidified by cooling.
