PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscosity measuring instrument capable of using a method for heating a sample such as rubber or the like at a heating rate conforming to the actual molding condition of the sample, and measuring the viscosity of the heated sample or heating the sample at a heating rate conforming to the past measuring condition, in order to perform the comparison with the past measuring result to measure the viscosity of the heated sample. SOLUTION: The viscosity measuring instrument is constituted so as to be capable of freely setting the heating rate of the sample to measure the viscosity of the sample, by enabling the selection of the time required in order to again restore the lowering of the temperature of the sample chamber 3 formed between upper and lower dies 1, 2, caused by the charging of the sample in the sample chamber 3 in such a state that the temperature of the sample chamber 3 is held to set temperature, to the set temperature.
